A lot of people talk about achieving balance as if it is an end goal – and, in a way, it is. It’s something to strive for in our lives, but it’s hardly static. Think of balance the way a tight-rope walker would – it’s a process, constant and ongoing. You may never strike that perfect balance in whatever you’re working on, but if you’re teetering pretty close to that center line, then you should give yourself some credit and congratulations.
And if you’re anything like me, the second you get one thing balanced, something else becomes unbalanced, so maybe it’s more like a plate spinner, who has to keep going back to each individual plate and setting it back to spinning again. If you find yourself doing the same thing, that’s okay. It’s how life works. You are not deficient in any way.
Enjoy the process because you’re going to be doing it a lot.
