It’s been eight long years. Eight long, lonely years and you have been standing STRONG. SO strong that you should be sainted. It has been eight long lonely years and you have been LONELY. Eight years since you last spoke to him, eight years since he said goodbye. But you know better, don’t you? You know he’s The One. You told yourself that you would just wait and he would realize his mistake and he would come right back in just a couple days. Couple months. Couple years. Any time now. But it has been eight long and lonely years and you’re starting to think, ‘Lordie, it is taking TOO long – WHEN is he going to call me?!’ or you’re starting to think, ‘wait a minute, have I been waiting for nothing?’
The answer nearly every single time is he ISN’T going to call you and YES, you’ve been waiting for nothing. Don’t get me wrong, you’ve shown some amazing patience and strength! But you’ve applied it the wrong way – you have kept yourself from growing and learning and loving and you’ve lost out on SO many experiences by putting yourself in a state of waiting!
I’m not saying that when he leaves there’s no hope and they never come back. I’m saying DON’T WAIT. Don’t put life off for anything, especially not someone else! If it’s meant to be, sure, he’ll contact you some day. But he doesn’t expect you to wait – and you don’t deserve to have to wait. Go out, have some fun, date some other guys – experiment a little, see what you like and what you don’t – what works and what doesn’t! You may learn something new, try something new, grow, move on, have fun, LIVE LIFE!
But PLEASE know that when you ask me for a reading on whether or not he’s going to come back after a week, month, year, decade, I will do that reading, even though I may already know the answer. And on my side of the screen, I’m going to be looking for what you can do to move on and have a life again – this is where I’m going to be putting my energy, and it’s where you should be putting yours, too.
