Walking with Angels – My Friend Kiri

Photo by: Per Ola Wiberg ~ Powi

I’ve been sitting here staring at my little postie box trying to figure out how I want to introduce Kiri. I’m listening to inspirational music (Pat Benetar, Heart, System of a Down, Metallica…), did a search for poems and quotes, tried a philosopher’s angel and something humorous (I don’t do funny). So I’m going to kind of just let things flow and trust that whatever needs to come out of my fingers will. That’s something that Kiri is helping me with.

Kiri is an Angel Oracle Reader. She speaks and walks with Angels. That isn’t to say she’s an airy-fairy castles-in-the-sky kind of Spiritualist. She’s very practical, down to Earth, and easy to talk to. When you talk to her, she Listens. When you ask questions, she answers them. She doesn’t mince words, she’s not mean, but she’s honest, direct, and reasonable. One things that I love is that she doesn’t just give you a list of things you’re not supposed to do or some abstract idea of what you are supposed to do, but instead, she gets to the meat of a situation and talks about what needs to be changed and HOW you can change it. Another thing I love about her is that she very much encourages that you take your spirituality into your own hands. This is very important.

I had a reading with Kiri and I tell you she nailed everything.

She said that I need to let go – that I need to be less controlling and serious and learn to just be and trust. Sure, I could protest and blame the reading on my four planets in Virgo or the ridiculous amount of ones I have in my numerology chart. But she went on to explain that I need to be confident in what I’m doing and allow myself to play again. Not just sit in front of the TV and call it relaxing, but jump in puddles and hunt for rainbows fun. And even though she was telling me to loosen my death grip on my life and relax, she also made sure I knew that I wasn’t a victim of fate and couldn’t change things. Her message was that I was powerful and capable enough to do what I needed, so I didn’t need to worry about it so much.

Now let me tell you – I had this reading shortly after meeting Kiri. I’m pretty sure she hadn’t had a chance to scope out my extreme Type A nature. She shined a light on what I’ve been doing to myself and how I’m getting in my own way. She spoke to me in a way that I understood – she used concrete steps and metaphors to make sure I understood. She didn’t use the flowery language that a lot of the New Age community likes to use – she was just very practical, straightforward, and empowering.

On top of that, she works on a Celestial axis, which for me is very foreign, but through  her words she made Angels seem very accessible and very much involved in my life, and that’s saying something. After my reading, Kiri was kind enough to let me interview her and she handled my difficult questions with grace and the same straight forward, familiar, down-to-earth method with which she delivered my reading.

Did I mention that she also does Feng Shui and practices Lunar Living? She’s getting ready to launch her readings this weekend and I’m so excited for her! I suggest if you have a chance to grab one now, because I don’t think it’ll be too long before she finds herself raising her prices due to demand. So swing by her site HERE and get to know her for yourself. Oh, and those readings, they’re HERE .

Here’s the interview!

Kiri

Fae: What drew you to angels? What about them resonates with you?

Kiri: I think I have always had a sense that there were angels around us. I remember my mum talking to me once about them, and I can recall ‘knowing’ what she was saying was true because of dreams I’d had. One of my older sisters passed away before I was born, and my younger sister and I had asked my mother why she was no longer with us. Mum said “God decided she was to go and live with the angels, who will look after her for me and your dad, until we see her again.”

That confirmed what in my mind I already knew – angels existed. By that point I’d already had a few experiences which can only be described as ‘paranormal’. I had complete faith that a world which ran parallel to ours existed, and if it contained spirits, portals and other things I had seen but didn’t understand, then why wouldn’t it contain the angels that visited me when I slept too?

Even though I began my journey with angels as a child (albeit without realising) through my teenage years I lost sight of them. I rebelled, went off the rails and was angry at the world because deep down I felt that I didn’t fit in, that I was different somehow, an outsider.

Fast forward a few years, I had a baby and was suffering with severe post-natal depression. I have never been at such a low point in my life. I remember being alone in the house, and somehow had ended up in the bathroom, where I was curled up in a ball sobbing, with a mound of painkillers in front of me and a razor, trying to work out in my emotionally fuddled brain which would be the better option to take, to end this personal hell I was in. I’d taken two of the pills when I heard a voice that was not my own saying “Stop. We are here. You’re not alone. You will get through this.” Needless to say, I couldn’t do anything then but sit there in a state of complete shock for a couple of hours. Then, I decided enough was enough and dedicated myself to working with them.

The angels came to me in my darkest hour, when I needed them most. I have asked for their help and received it. They bring me comfort, company and a reminder that I am never, ever alone. I am continually guided by them to operate at my highest potential, to do good, and to help others. I am turning my life around with their assistance. It is these things that resonate with me, that keep me going.

Fae: Why not more conventional methods, like Tarot Cards?

Kiri: I used to use Tarot, but I find when you are depressed or down, they can seem quite scary. I kept getting readings that were very negative, and at times frightening. Maybe my pessimistic mindset was playing a part in that. I decided to stop using them, because I felt they were not helping, just enabling me to get lost in my troubles even more.

After the angel experience I talked about above, I began researching angels in earnest, and came across angel oracle cards. I found them to be very constructive in a  positive way, with nothing negative or scary. I ‘clicked’ with this method of divination in a way I never did with Tarot. I do believe that the angel oracle is the right tool for me to use, because my Tarot decks didn’t last very long, either because cards went missing or they got damaged. So far, my angel oracle decks have remained in pristine condition, so I’m taking that as a sign!

Fae: What types of questions does the angel oracle answer?

Kiri: The angel oracle does not provide yes/no answers, and works best when asked an open ended question, which can be regarding any area of your own life. The answers you receive will tell you about the energies that are affecting the situation, and what you can work on within yourself to achieve your desired outcome or better. Therefore, good questions to ask would be along the lines of “what can I do to improve my financial situation?”, what do I need to work on to attract the right relationship to me?” or for a more general reading you might ask “what do I need to know right now?”

Fae: Do I need to do anything special for my reading?

Kiri: For all readings, I need a photo, and the more you can tell me about yourself and the situation you are enquiring about, the clearer your reading will be. I’m not a psychic, so if you are expecting me to know things about you without being told, you will probably be disappointed. For email readings that is the only preparation you have to do. If you would like a reading via Skype, you need to send me the same information as above. If you want to, you can light candles and/or incense beforehand, along with grounding and centering yourself, which helps maintain a link between earth and Spirit. I can talk you through how to do that at the start of the call, alternatively there is information about this on my website.

Fae: How can I work more with Angels?

Kiri: There are a variety of ways you can work with angels, including meditation, dream journaling (the easiest time for them to get through to us is whilst we are asleep), energy healing and crystals, to name a few… One of the simplest ways is to just ask for their help, however the ease in receiving their answers lies within your frame of mind.

The more positive you can be, the easier you will find it to build a connection with them. You can do this by replacing negative feelings with positive ones, praying for health and happiness for those who have hurt you, giving freely, and ‘counting your blessings’. You may find it useful to draw a detailed picture that symbolises what you want from life. For example, you could draw your dream home, or maybe if you desired freedom you could draw a bird. Then, encircle your picture with eight words that describe qualities you would like more of in your life, such as power, serenity, abundance, spirituality, love and so on. Each day before you rise, spend a little time not just looking at your picture, but envisioning living it. Say your eight words eight times. This, along with the other methods mentioned, will help to ‘raise your vibrations’ which is essential to working with angels.

Fae: What happens if I don’t follow their instructions? Will I be cursed or damned or something?

Kiri: In short, nothing happens. Angels are beings of pure love and good, whose mission is to help each of us operate to our fullest potential and highest good, therefore they would never cause anything negative to anyone. If you don’t heed the advice given to you during an angel reading, life would just continue down the path it would have done had you not had a reading.

Fae: Why do Angels speak through the oracle cards instead of being more direct?

Kiri: In order for angels to have any influence on us and our lives, we first have to ask for their help. If they just came in willy-nilly it would violate our free will, which is a no-go in the angelic world. They also belong to a different dimension than us, which means normally they can’t hear us and we can’t hear them – unless we raise our vibrations so they are closer to those of angels.

They can speak to us in other ways (rather than card readings), however most of us don’t notice, or think we are just being daft! One of the ways that they send their messages through to us most is through our dreams, which is why it is a good idea to keep note of them. They also use signs such as butterflies, birds, feathers and coins. A good rule of thumb for working with angels is that if you see something which makes you think of them, it is usually because of them! Pay attention to repetitive dream themes, signs, thoughts and feelings. Understanding the messages they send can be quite difficult at times, as they are often symbolic and riddle-like  – I still have trouble sometimes and I’ve been doing this for years! The more you do to work with angels, the more likely you are to succeed.

Using oracle cards is a highly effective method of opening up to angelic assistance. Firstly, by asking them your question you open to it being answered. Secondly, the advice that comes from them is clear and concise, making it an ideal method for those who may have little knowledge of and experience in working with angels. Guidance is given positively, constructively and is always for your highest good.
