So, I’m trying to remember to post updates to my website more often – I usually touch in over on YouTube or via Podcast or just Social media, but I’m trying to get away from that so much and really focus things on my website more.
So, the last few weeks since the start of the George Floyd protests, really, I’ve just been focused on politics, news, and, frankly, doom-scrolling. It’s DIRE out there and it’s hard to NOT feel that direness and refocusing my attention anywhere else feels… flippant? Negligent? Selfish? But, I know – we all need breaks and just scrolling through Twitter is NOT accomplishing that much, so I’m working on it.
A couple weeks ago, I was a featured “Staff Pick” over on Purple Ocean, which was really sweet of them (I work several different psychic “hotlines” and actually did a webinar series on the topic a few years ago with Maria, Christina and Heather that you can catch HERE if you like) and that really DOES make a huge difference on the amount of traffic (aka reading requests in a short period of time) you get! I got SO MUCH traffic that it just completely exhausted me for the last couple weeks, so I have done literally NOTHING since then, including passing on our usual Full Moon Candle this month!
But other than all that resting, what I’m currently working on is:
- Learning/re-learning darbuka drumming (I previously learned via drum circle, so am taking a more formal approach this time)
- Studying the evolution of blues music
- I need to get a folding table to better continue our Tarot Spread Reviews because the floor just isn’t comfortable at all
- Redecorating our apartment because I think I kind of hate it?
- I also have a few topics/issues that I’m investigating for the podcast that I’m looking forward to sharing with folks when I get things all figured out, kind of in the vein of the Fake Authors on Amazon thing
- Reloading physical products to the webstore (I bought a car! So now I can actually ship things!)
- Read and review several books and set up interviews as appropriate (I am SO behind!)
Whew! So that’s what you can expect from me in the next couple weeks-months!
